The Dallas Cowboys had lost two straight games and dropped to a 2-4 record heading into Monday night's matchup in Philadelphia. The team needed a win to stay within striking distance of the New York Giants, who hold a 4-2-1 record in the NFC East.

Dak Prescott threw three touchdown passes in the 38-21 victory. The score gave the Cowboys their first win in 22 days and stopped a two-game losing streak. This result kept Dallas level with the Giants in the division race.

Prescott noted that the division is right in front of them as long as they keep winning. He said that losing another game would force the team to watch other opponents more closely than necessary. The quarterback emphasized the importance of winning division games, especially against an Eagles team that is struggling on offense.

The Cowboys entered the game facing questions about their offense, which had scored only 29 points in the previous two contests. Prescott threw four interceptions in those losses. Head coach Brian Schottenheimer had faced some pressure during the week. He told 105.3 The Fan that he is an elite playcaller despite a 9-13-1 record over the last three seasons.

Schottenheimer was unusually reserved in his postgame comments. He said the performance had nothing to do with desperation and that his players simply performed well. When asked why he was not more exuberant, he replied that he is great and excited for the team. Prescott said he noticed a hungry and pissed-off version of Schottenheimer during the week. The quarterback said the staff knows the coach takes pride in his job and that the team has his back.

Javonte Williams ran for a career-high 155 yards on 25 carries. He scored the game-sealing touchdown from two yards out with 2:21 left in the game. It was the first time since 1983 that Dallas had more than 200 rushing yards and 200 passing yards against Philadelphia. Prescott threw two touchdowns to CeeDee Lamb and one to George Pickens.

The defense allowed the Eagles to score on the opening drive of the first half and the second half. However, the unit recorded one interception and two sacks against quarterback Tanner McKee. DeMarvion Overshown picked off the pass. Quinnen Williams and Donovan Ezeiruaku recorded the sacks. Linebacker Javonte Williams said the team did not play a perfect game but it is amazing to get a win.

The Cowboys next face the Arizona Cardinals at AT&T Stadium. Dallas has not won back-to-back games since a three-game winning streak in Weeks 11-13 last year. ESPN Analytics gives the Cowboys a 57% chance of winning the division. Schottenheimer said the win gets the team right back into the hunt in the NFC East.
